The UN Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) has created a Libraries Portal to enhance access to information related to library resources available on the World Wide Web as well as to issues affecting librarianship. The site provides links to the websites of libraries and information centres, library associations, and on-line resources around the world. It also provides news about upcoming conferences and training opportunities. Users can add or modify links; librarians are invited to participate by providing information on activities, news and content which they wish to share with others. The portal can also be searched by keyword."
